SoundStage! Rush - Different Stage

I've loved Rush for what seems like forever, yet my interest only began during the Hemispheres years (1978). Different Stages is their fourth official live CD and contains more music than I can shake a stick at (and I have some big sticks here!). The songs on the three CDs cover those from their first album and all that follow Different Stages really puts Rush's 1990s studio albums to shame when you compare these lively, energetic renditions of that material to the versions on Roll the Bones, Test for Echo and Counterparts, and comes highly recommended to all Rush fans who like the heavier side of their work; that said, I personally find I keep revisiting the 1970s. The Rush Live Album to Own - 92% Metalich, July 15th, 2007 Rush closes out their 4th era of music with another live release, this one enclosing their 90's output: Presto, Roll the Bones, Counterparts, and Test for Echo. I must admit, I was a little leery of this one at first, the 90's not. Albums / Rush / Rush: Different Stages Different Stages review by Rush. Posted Jan 11, 2005 06:43 AM . Ultimate Guitar rush4life [+]. About Different Stages. Different Stages was largely recorded at the World Amphitheater on June 14th, 1997 in suburban Chicago during the 1997 Test for Echo tour, the first tour the band did An Evening with Rush without a supporting act. Everything worked well that night: our playing, the audience, and the venue's acoustics Alex said in 1999 On their fourth live album since their inception in the early '70s, Rush's three-CD Different Stages: Live is similar in approach and feel to their first in-concert release, 1976's All the World's a Stage.Instead of overdubbing and cleaning up the performances as they did on their last two live albums (1981's Exit...Stage Left and 1988's A Show of Hands), the tracks are left raw and rocking

All The World's A Stage - 1976 Mercury A (Very Good / Good) Best song: Anthem A SOLID double-live album, one that demonstrates every good side of the earliest epoch of Rush and virtually none of the bad. The only complaints I can really muster for the album are that (a) the performances don't differ from the studio versions that greatly and that (b) being early Rush and all, much of the. Different Stages is a live album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1998.The bulk of the first and second discs were recorded at the World Music Theatre in Tinley Park, Illinois during the 1997 Test for Echo tour. Five other songs from various stops along the tour were included and three songs from the 1994 Counterparts tour. The third disc is taken from a performance at the Hammersmith. When I refer to 90s Rush, four of the band's Atlantic era studio albums come to mind: Presto (1989), Roll the Bones (1991), Counterparts (1993) and Test for Echo (1996)...and, of course, those four studio albums were capped off by the band's 4th live album, Different Stages (1998), for which this blog is named

Different Stages: Live Vapor Trails In Rio Feedback EP Snakes & Arrows Snakes & Arrows Live Oh, Rush. Scourge of a nation. Murderer of a generation. Defamer of the eras. What is it with Rush, eh? Discs 1 & 2 feature selected performances from both the 1994 & 1997 tours, & fill the void for official live offerings from the band up until this time, & since 1988's Show of Hands. Disc 3 offers a show from early 1978 from England from the Farewell to Kings Tour, & perfectly compliments All the Worlds a Stage Different Stages also marks the last Rush release for 4 years, due to Neil Peart's personal issues. In any event, it's a very good live recording. A bit of an improvement from A Show of Hands. Different Stages is essentially split into two parts. Disc 1 and 2 are 90's material. Disc 3 is a special concert from 1977 (AFTK era)

RUSH Different Stages - Live review

  1. Different Stages is the only Rush live album that contains a full performance of the entire 2112 suite. All songs recorded on June 14, 1997 at the World Music Theatre except where noted. Recorded on February 20, 1978 in London at the Hammersmith Odeon. Track 2 segues directly into track 3, and tracks 8 through 10 are performed as a medley
  2. ando, alla fine degli anni '90, la volontà di continuare dei restanti membri, mettendo.
  3. Rush recorded five live albums, but Different Stages sounds more natural and has the (in my opinion) better playlist. Of course, you can't go wrong with a playlist by Rush, because they don't have weak songs, but here are some all-time faves like Anthem (for what I waited long to hear live), Fly By Night, Farewell To Kings.
